Ian Cathro appointed Saint-Étienne manager on two-year deal
Saint-Étienne will appoint Scottish coach Ian Cathro as manager on a two-year contract.
Saint-Étienne compete in Ligue 2.
The club reached a deal to buy out the final two years of Cathro's contract with Estoril.
Luke Entwistle noted the appointment.
Saint-Étienne chose not to extend Philippe Montanier's contract after the season ended.
The decision followed the club's failure to achieve promotion to Ligue 1 despite retaining key players.
Cathro previously managed Hearts and served as assistant manager at Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Valencia.
He led Estoril to an eighth-place finish in his first season and a tenth-place finish in his second.
