Inter near €50m Marco Palestra deal as agent lands in Milan
Inter are on the verge of completing the signing of Marco Palestra from Atalanta, with the 21‑year‑old’s agent Alessandro Lucci arriving in Milan to finalise the remaining details. The transfer is expected to be confirmed within the next 24 to 48 hours.
According to Fabrizio Romano via CalcioMercato, the total package will be in the region of €50 million including bonuses. An additional sell‑on percentage is slated for discussion in meetings taking place today.
Inter have already agreed personal terms with Palestra on a five‑year contract worth approximately €3 million net per season. The player’s firm refusal to consider alternatives from Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester City proved decisive in keeping Inter in pole position.
Atalanta’s insistence on a sell‑on clause adds a further layer to the financial structure, potentially pushing the total value beyond €50 million. The broad agreement between all parties has been in place for some time, with only finer financial points remaining.
Palestra impressed on loan at Cagliari Calcio last season, establishing himself in the Nerazzurri’s plans and earning his first senior Italy call‑ups. He will be expected to step directly into the right‑back role vacated by Denzel Dumfries, who is set to complete a move to Real Madrid.
