Inzaghi rejects Italian offers and stays at Al‑Hilal until 2027

Simone Inzaghi, the current coach of Al‑Hilal, has confirmed that he does not want to return to Italy this summer, despite interest from several Italian clubs, according to his agent Federico Pastorello.

Italian interest but no concrete negotiations

Federico Pastorello, interviewed by and reported by Sportmediaset, explained that “every summer there are four or five clubs that look at him, including the Italian ones, but there hasn't even been a need to approach him because his desire is to stay.”

The coach, who led Lazio for five seasons and Inter since 2021, has been at the centre of enquiries from Italian teams, but his intention to continue managing Al‑Hilal has remained firm.

The move to Riyadh and the current contract

Inzaghi left Inter for Riyadh in June 2025, a few days after the 5‑0 defeat in the Champions League final against Paris Saint‑Germain. He signed a two‑year contract, valued at around €26 million per season, which expires in June 2027.

“Has there ever been the possibility of returning to Italy this summer? A year of experience has helped him a lot, then at the end of the season we will take stock. Nothing is closed in any direction, and obviously the club’s wishes will also be taken into account,” Pastorello said.

Other market cases linked to Pastorello

The agent also represents Francesco Acerbi, a 38‑year‑old defender without a club after his contract with Inter expired in June. Acerbi, who played under Inzaghi at both Lazio and Inter, has been linked with Sassuolo and Bologna, while Atalanta ruled out a transfer last month.

In summary, Inzaghi remains in charge of Al‑Hilal, with the possibility to assess the future only at the end of the season, while Italian interest persists but without concrete pressure.
