Ismael Saibari scores for Morocco against Brazil
Ismael Saibari opened the scoring for Morocco against Brazil at the World Cup, giving the North African side a 1‑1 draw. The match marked Saibari's first appearance in a World Cup tournament.
Saibari received the ball from Brahim Diaz after a swift run, then faced Alisson Becker and lifted the ball over the Liverpool keeper. He described the finish as one of the few options after winning the ball high up the pitch.
After the game Saibari said he immediately knew the shot would go in, but felt the 1‑1 result only reflected part of Morocco's performance. He added that the team always aims for victory and would have liked to secure the win.

In Eindhoven, PSV confirmed ongoing negotiations with Bayern München for Saibari's transfer. German media reported a fee of €50‑60 million, which would set a new record sale for PSV, and Saibari declined to comment on his future, referring to his agent. Morocco could meet the Netherlands in the round of 16, but Saibari said he is not focusing on potential opponents. Their next group match is scheduled against Scotland in Boston on Friday night.
