Jesus reacts to Ronaldo's promise breach after international incident
While the morning mist hung over Lisbon, a line of journalists stood at the front door of Jorge Jesus’ house, waiting for the answer to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Tuesday statement about the recent international match incident.
Reaction of the national team coach
Jorge Jesus gave a brief interview on Wednesday. He confirmed that he had read Ronaldo’s statement. “I have read the statement,” said the selector, quoted by A BOLA.
Jesus continued: “Now I am, as every day, going to the federation to work, to think about the team and the national team.” He said little to the gathered media.

Ronaldo accused the national team coach of broken promises. “He said that I would play the first and the last match and that he, with regard to physical load, would always make three to four substitutions per match,” wrote the 41‑year‑old star.
Cristiano also showed himself to be remorseful. “Despite the total breach of trust … I should not have left. The responsibility lies entirely with me. I again apologise to the Portuguese people,” said the striker.

It remains unclear whether Jesus will call up Ronaldo again. The Portuguese newspaper reports that the striker has breached several team rules and will probably face sanctions, but which sanctions those will be is not yet known.
