Juventus chase Martinez as Villa eye Parma's Suzuki
Juventus are advancing negotiations to sign Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa. Aston Villa could turn to Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as a replacement if the move proceeds.
Martinez, a 2022 World Cup winner, is in the final year of his Aston Villa contract and is reportedly ready to accept a €5 million-per-season deal from Juventus. Aston Villa are expected to ask for a fee around €15 million, while Juventus aim to secure him for free.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa have been scouting Suzuki for several months and list him among three goalkeepers under consideration. The 23‑year‑old has made 57 Serie A appearances for Parma since joining from Urawa Red Diamonds in the summer of 2024, before missing 16 matches with a broken hand.
Reports also name Manchester City and England goalkeeper James Trafford as another option for Villa should Martinez join Juventus. Villa’s shortlist therefore includes Suzuki, Trafford and a third unnamed shot‑stopper.
