Juventus eye Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as most realistic goalkeeper target
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is Juventus' most likely target as the Serie A club struggles to secure a new keeper, with alternatives such as Alisson, Emi Martinez and Jan Oblak proving financially out of reach; Vicario, 29, could command a low salary and is keen to return to Italy.
Juventus have faced significant challenges in the hunt to sign a new goalkeeper. As other options fade, Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario becomes a viable alternative.
La dello Sport notes the idea of signing Alisson has faded away, with the Brazilian not asking Liverpool to lower their demands. Similar issues affect Emi Martinez, whose valuation exceeds what Juventus want to pay, further limiting Juventus’ options. Vicario, 29, could be offered at a discount as he currently serves as second‑choice behind Antonin Kinsky at Tottenham.
Vicario is keen on returning to Italy and his low salary would be affordable for Juventus, known as the Old Lady. Marco Carnesecchi appears as an expensive alternative for the club.
Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini has a very good relationship with Vicario’s agent Gabriele Giuffrida, which could drive a deal forward. Tottenham have shown no indication of wanting to keep him.
Vicario’s chapter in London seems to be over after winning silverware; his contract runs out in 2028, making 2026 the best time for Tottenham to sell him. Juventus should therefore make a formal approach soon.
