Juventus seek Koopmeiners sale as Modric ponders future

Juventus have told Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners that they seek a solution before the summer window. AC Milan midfielder Luka Modric will decide his future after the World Cup, with a contract renewal option he can trigger himself. Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has identified three priority targets for the upcoming transfer window. Journalist Orazio Accomando reported from the SportMediaset studios that Bologna are among the clubs interested in Koopmeiners. Juventus aim to secure a significant fee, noting the player was signed for close to €60 million and is unlikely to recoup that amount. The club will continue to monitor the international market for offers that meet their budget needs. Matteo Moretto explained on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel that Modric’s contract, signed last summer, contains a renewal clause exercisable by the player. Modric initially expressed a desire to stay at AC Milan, but corporate and technical uncertainties have reopened questions about his future. He plans to wait until the World Cup ends before announcing a decision, with retirement and a possible role at Real Madrid also mentioned. Cristian Chivu’s first explicit request is Atalanta wing‑back Marco Palestra, who impressed with his one‑on‑one ability and athletic qualities. In defense, Inter are pushing for Udinese centre‑back Oumar Solet, while interest in Tarik Muharemovic has been cooled. Midfield priority is Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, as the presence of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu limits further investment. Sam Beukema will remain with Napoli, according to the Corriere dello Sport. Massimiliano Allegri plans to revert to a back‑four, a system in which Beukema developed during his time at Bologna. Allegri values Beukema’s modern ball‑playing profile and accuracy in carrying the ball out of defense. Roma have opened contact with Marseille striker Mason Greenwood’s entourage, and the player has shown openness to a move to the Giallorossi. Marseille’s initial asking price is around €55 million including bonuses, but Roma are studying a loan of at least €5 million with an obligation to buy set at €25 million and further bonuses up to €40 million, plus a resale percentage. The proposed structure aims to reduce the immediate financial outlay for the Italian club. While the World Cup matchday sees Germany and the Netherlands debuting against Curaçao and Japan, Serie A clubs continue to negotiate transfers ahead of the summer. The ongoing market activity underscores the league’s focus on reshaping squads before the new season.
