Koeman seeks striker stability ahead of Tunisia clash

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman said on Tuesday that he is unlikely to change the striker position for the final group match against Tunisia, emphasizing a desire for stability in the attacking line. He noted that Brian Brobbey, who netted two goals against Sweden, remains a strong candidate. When asked whether Brobbey will start, Koeman said the choice always depends on the opponent. He added that scouting the rival is a constant part of his preparation. Koeman stressed that rotating the striker every game is not his philosophy. "Uiteindelijk geloof ik er niet in dat je elke wedstrijd wisselt," he explained during the press conference before the Tunisia duel. He reminded reporters that the squad comprises 26 players. Koeman argued that it would be disrespectful to single out any individual in that manner. According to Koeman, there are enough options behind the striker to allow rotation, as demonstrated in the previous match. He cited the changes made in the Sweden game as an example. Ultimately, Koeman wants to move toward a settled eleven, keeping the striker role consistent when the player is in form. He concluded that these are the decisions a trainer must make.
