KV Kortrijk loan Japanese midfielder Ken Masui

KV Kortrijk have secured the services of 25‑year‑old Japanese midfielder Ken Masui on a loan from J‑League side Nagoya Grampus, with a purchase option included. The move follows a six‑month loan spell at Beerschot, where Masui gained experience in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, and his market value is estimated at €400‑500 k.

Masui primarily operates as a number‑ten but can also be deployed on either flank. His versatility offers KV Kortrijk additional creative options in midfield.

The Japanese playmaker completed his football education in Japan before building his professional career at Nagoya Grampus. Nagoya Grampus is a well‑established club in the J‑League.

Scouts note Masui’s technical ability, vision and work rate as his standout attributes. KV Kortrijk expect his profile to bring extra creativity and attacking impetus to the squad.

“We are very happy to welcome Ken to KV Kortrijk,” said sport director Nils Vanneste in a club statement. He added that Masui brings creativity, energy and maturity that fit the club’s ambitions.

Masui said, “KV Kortrijk is a club with ambition, a loyal fan base and a clear project.” He also noted, “From the first talks I felt a lot of confidence; I can’t wait to wear the KV Kortrijk shirt and give everything for the supporters.”

The loan agreement includes an option for KV Kortrijk to trigger a permanent transfer should Masui impress. If exercised, the move would cement his place in the Kerels’ midfield for the foreseeable future.
