KV Kortrijk thrash White Star Lauwe 6-0 in second friendly
KV Kortrijk opened their pre‑season with a 6‑0 victory over White Star Lauwe in their second friendly, held under the watchful eye of Hein Vanhaezebrouck, after a 1‑4 win against KFC Marke the previous day. The match took place in scorching heat and saw the home side dominate after a 0‑1 halftime deficit.
Promoted clubs to the Belgian First Division A traditionally begin preparations weeks before the season ends. KV Kortrijk, as a newly promoted side, have started early to be ready from day one.
The day before, the Kerels secured a 4‑1 victory over KFC Marke in their first friendly of the pre‑season.
Against White Star Lauwe, the visitors led 1‑0 at the break, but the second half saw KV Kortrijk score five unanswered goals. The comeback turned a 0‑1 halftime deficit into a 6‑0 final result.
Jellert Van Landschoot netted a hat‑trick, while Nadir El Majdoub, Bryan Adinany and Anthony Philips each added one goal. Van Landschoot's three strikes accounted for half of the tally.
White Star Lauwe compete in the Derde Amateurklasse, the third tier of Belgian amateur football.
The next friendly is scheduled for Saturday against Diksmuide - Oostende.
