Leeds and Villa eye Parma keeper Zion Suzuki as €30m target

🇬🇧

Leeds United and Aston Villa are both monitoring 23‑year‑old Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, with the English clubs weighing a potential €30 million move for the Japanese international after his strong comeback from a broken hand and World Cup performances this season.

Suzuki was sidelined by a broken hand between November and March, but returned to play a major role in Parma's successful fight for survival.

At 23, he has already become Japan's first‑choice goalkeeper and delivered composed performances for his country at the World Cup.

Leeds appear to be the more advanced of the two Premier League clubs; Fabrizio Romano initial contact has already been made as the Yorkshire side assesses whether to formalise its interest once the World Cup concludes.

Suzuki's athleticism, command of his area and calm distribution have made him an increasingly attractive option for teams seeking long‑term stability.

Aston Villa's position is more complicated, as any move depends on the future of Emiliano Martinez, who continues to attract attention while representing Argentina at the World Cup. Should Martinez depart, Suzuki would become a logical candidate, but Villa's interest remains at an exploratory stage.

Parma value Suzuki at around €30 million, a figure reflecting his potential and growing reputation across Europe, with Inter and AC Milan previously linked to the keeper.

Both English clubs are expected to monitor developments throughout the remainder of the transfer window, with decisions likely to hinge on the World Cup outcome and Martinez's situation.
