Linfield sign Ryan Nolan as Ballymena recruit Chris McKee

Linfield have secured defender Ryan Nolan on a two‑year contract after his deal with champions Larne expired. Ballymena United have completed the signing of forward Chris McKee from Linfield following the end of his contract.

Nolan, 27, joined Linfield in September 2024 and made 48 appearances for Larne, contributing to the club’s Gibson Cup triumph in the 2025‑26 season. The county Clare native previously played in Spain, England and Scotland and spent time in Inter Milan’s youth system. His experience includes spells across multiple leagues.

Linfield manager David Healy said the club had long admired Nolan for his leadership and defensive presence. Linfield also announced the arrival of 21‑year‑old Scottish goalkeeper Aidan Glavin after his contract with Raith Rovers ended. Glavin, a former Kilmarnock academy product, has represented Scotland at under‑20 level.

McKee, 24, left Linfield after four and a half years, having arrived from Rangers and winning two Irish Premiership titles and three League Cups. He described his move to Ballymena United as a fresh start and praised the club’s project. The forward expressed excitement about the squad’s strength.

Crusaders have added striker Aaron Reid, 22, from Airdrieonians on a two‑year deal and defender Graham Kelly, 28, from Coleraine after an injury‑hit spell. Thomas Maguire completed a permanent transfer to Crusaders’ Seaview after a loan spell. Kris Lowe returned to Dungannon Swifts from relegated Glenavon.
