Liverpool agree deal for Victor Munoz from Osasuna

Liverpool FC have agreed a deal to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, subject to a successful work permit application and international clearance. The 22-year-old forward completed his medical at Spain’s World Cup base in Tennessee, USA, before signing a long-term contract. Munoz is currently with Spain at the World Cup and is expected to feature in their second group-stage fixture against Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on Sunday. This marks Munoz’s first senior move since joining Osasuna last summer from Real Madrid. He made four senior appearances for Real Madrid before progressing through their youth system and Osasuna’s academy. Earlier in his development, Munoz was also part of Barcelona’s youth setup after starting at his hometown club. Munoz arrives at Anfield as Andoni Iraola’s first signing since taking charge at Liverpool. The club acted quickly in the transfer market following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign. His arrival follows the earlier agreement for Jeremy Jacquet, making Munoz the second new addition to the Reds’ squad for 2026/27. The Spain international has already made two senior appearances for his country, scoring on his debut against Serbia in March. His international recognition underscores the level Liverpool are targeting with this signing. Munoz has also delivered seven goals and five assists in 34 appearances for Osasuna across all competitions this season. Liverpool view Munoz as a versatile forward capable of contributing in multiple attacking phases. His technical education and experience in elite Spanish academies—including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Osasuna—align with Iraola’s project. The club expects Munoz to link up with his new teammates after Spain’s World Cup campaign concludes. For Osasuna, this deal comes after Munoz’s strong debut season in La Liga. His development trajectory suggests his profile could rise further, potentially making this transfer a pivotal moment in his career.
