Liverpool Misses Out on Kennet Eichhorn Transfer
Liverpool’s attempt to sign 16‑year‑old Kennet Eichhorn has ended with the midfielder staying in Germany. Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are now ahead in the race for his future.
Florian Plettenberg said Eichhorn rejected Liverpool in the final hours, preferring to remain at Hertha BSC. Plettenberg added that Leverkusen are pushing hard for a permanent deal while Leipzig remain hopeful.
Plettenberg noted Liverpool’s offer was the most attractive financially and in club stature, exceeding those of the German clubs. Nicholas Bieber reported a private jet would fly from Berlin to Liverpool tomorrow and that Eichhorn’s release clause expires in six days.
Liverpool’s recruitment team has earned a strong reputation for identifying elite young talent. Plettenberg suggested the team will now turn to alternative options.
