Liverpool Monitor Barcola as PSG Contract Stalls

Contract talks between Paris Saint Germain and Bradley Barcola have stalled. Liverpool are reported to keep Barcola on their radar as they search for attacking reinforcements. Barcola is contracted to Paris Saint Germain until 2028. Negotiations for an extension have not progressed despite ongoing talks. His representative Moussa Sissoko met sporting director Luis Campos, but no breakthrough was achieved. Paris Saint Germain traditionally do not retain players who refuse to extend when entering the final two years of their contract. Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are currently preferred in PSG’s attacking lineup. Barcola seeks assurances of involvement in major matches, which PSG are unwilling to provide. Liverpool previously linked with Barcola after attempts to sign Alexander Isak became difficult. Barcola’s speed, technical ability and versatility match Liverpool’s desire for pace and creativity on the wings. PSG are not closed to a sale should contract negotiations remain unresolved. No active negotiations between Liverpool and Barcola are reported at present. The stalled contract situation and Barcola’s desire for a larger role could attract further interest as the summer window progresses.
