Liverpool's midfield void drives chase for Juventus star Khephren Thuram

🇬🇧

Liverpool face a midfield void after Curtis Jones is set to depart, likely for Inter, leaving the Reds short on options. A season of poor control in both attack and defence has heightened the need for fresh, ball‑winning talent to restore balance.

Curtis Jones looks virtually certain to leave, with reports linking him to Inter Milan. His exit would deprive Liverpool of a key creative option in midfield.

Last season Liverpool struggled to control games, often lacking cohesion in both attacking and defensive phases. Adding a dynamic midfielder capable of winning the ball back and dictating possession is now a priority.

Liverpool have identified Juventus prospect Khephren Thuram as a potential target, with Tuttosport confirming the club’s interest. Juventus, aware of Thuram’s likely departure, are pushing to complete a €50 million sale, while several other Premier League clubs also monitor the midfielder.

Thuram is regarded as one of the best all‑around midfielders in his age group across the top five leagues. His ability to contribute both offensively and defensively makes a €50 million fee appear solid business for Liverpool.

Elliot Anderson’s £116 million move to Manchester City has warped the market for versatile midfielders under 25. Thuram offers a comparable profile for under half that price, presenting Liverpool with a financially attractive option.

With Juventus not picky about the destination and eager to fund the signing of Franck Kessie, a deal could materialise quickly. Liverpool must act swiftly to secure Thuram before rival clubs intervene and close the midfield gap.
