Liverpool Yet to Submit Offer for Sporting's Francisco Trincão

Sporting have not yet received an offer from Liverpool for the 26‑year‑old winger Francisco Trincão, despite growing speculation that the English club leads the queue. Agent Jorge Mendes says a significant bid could arrive before the transfer window closes, possibly near the €60 million (£50.5 million) release clause.

Portuguese outlets indicate Liverpool is currently at the front of the queue for Trincão, while Sporting remain without a formal proposal. Mendes has assured both player and club that a bid will be submitted before the deadline.

Trincão is with Portugal at the World Cup in the United States, and a strong tournament could push his price toward the release clause. The international stage adds risk and potential reward for any interested club.

Since joining Sporting in 2022, Trincão has made 208 appearances, scored 47 goals and provided 45 assists. This season he added 13 goals and 15 assists, becoming Sporting’s most‑used player.

Earlier spells at Barcelona and Wolves were described as difficult, but he has rebuilt his reputation at Sporting. Liverpool’s interest fits stylistically, as Trincão offers left‑footed creativity, technical security and final‑third output. The potential fee of around £50.5 million means Liverpool would need to be convinced of immediate Premier League impact, while Sporting can afford to wait.

No formal proposal has landed yet, leaving the transfer in a state of suspension. Observers suggest the situation should be monitored rather than assumed, especially if the World Cup raises Trincão’s market value.
