Manchester United, PSG vie for Dutch winger Summerville

Dutch international Crysencio Summerville, who netted on his third cap for the Netherlands against Japan at the World Cup, is being pursued this summer by English giants Manchester United and French side Paris Saint‑Germain, while West Ham United have set a €55 million price tag for his transfer. Summerville arrived at West Ham United in 2024 for a fee reported to be under €30 million after Leeds United secured his services from Feyenoord’s youth academy. His Surinamese heritage was highlighted when he was signed by Leeds United from Feyenoord’s academy. Last winter AC Milan, AS Roma and Olympique Marseille attempted to sign the winger from West Ham, but the club resisted any move. West Ham, nicknamed The Irons, kept the player despite the interest, citing the club’s precarious situation. West Ham’s relegation to the Championship next season means the London club faces financial pressure, prompting them to consider a sale if the €55 million offer materialises. The club’s board has indicated willingness to negotiate if the financial terms are met. Manchester United, referred to as the Red Devils, have already submitted an opening bid for Summerville, United’s intent to secure the player before the summer window closes. Paris Saint‑Germain are also in contention, with both clubs reportedly battling for the player’s signature. The French side’s interest was confirmed by the same media sources. Transfermarkt values Summerville at €35 million, indicating a gap between his market valuation and West Ham’s asking price. West Ham’s asking price exceeds the market estimate by €20 million, a figure that could influence negotiations. Summerville is expected to leave West Ham before the club’s Championship campaign, joining a club that can meet the €55 million clause. A move would see Summerville leave the club before its Championship season begins.
