Marcos Senesi signs for Tottenham Hotspur on free
Marcos Senesi will join Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer on 1 July after his contract with Bournemouth expires. The 29‑year‑old Argentine defender spent four seasons with Bournemouth. His move brings him back to north London.
Marcos Senesi said: "It's a very special feeling to be a Tottenham Hotspur player. From the first moment the club has shown why they want me and how much they want me to be part of what they are building. I can't wait to be involved and will do my best to make the fans proud and help the club win things." He added that he wants to contribute to taking the club back to its rightful place.
During his four‑year spell at Bournemouth, Senesi made 128 appearances, scored six goals and provided ten assists. He also helped the south‑coast side secure European football in his final campaign.
Roberto de Zerbi said: "Marcos' experience, quality on the ball and competitive edge will strengthen us defensively and give us flexibility in formation. He's comfortable in a possession‑based team, reads the game well and has the personality to thrive in a demanding environment. I also love his mentality and desire to keep improving." De Zerbi expressed eagerness to work with the defender and expects a big contribution.
