Mark van Bommel leaves Arthur Theate out of the Red Devils' eleven

Mark van Bommel has excluded Arthur Theate from the eleven that will face France tonight, leaving five players off the official sheet. From an initial list of twenty‑eight, only twenty‑three will be registered for the Nations League match.

As in the match against Italy, the coach had to make choices among the players on the bench. The extended break already includes four Nations League fixtures, and the first list contained twenty‑eight names.

Five players left out of the eleven

The five absent are Mike Penders, Arthur Theate, Kyriani Sabbe, Malick Fofana and Leandro Trossard. Four of them were already on the bench or remained in Belgium against Italy, while Theate gives up his place to Koni De Winter.

The selected goalkeepers are Senne Lammens, Maarten Vandevoordt and Jari De Busser. In defence, Zeno Debast, Koni De Winter, Brandon Mechele, Maxim De Cuyper, Nathan Ngoy and Timothy Castagne are listed. In midfield, Roméo Lavia, Kevin De Bruyne, Youri Tielemans, Mandela Keita, Joaquin Seys, Diego Moreira, Hans Vanaken and Nicolas Raskin feature. In attack, Romelu Lukaku, Mika Godts, Loï̈s Openda, Dodi Lukébakio, Charles De Ketelaere and Matias Fernandez‑Pardo complete the eleven.
