Mbappe hails Michael Olise, sparking Real Madrid interest

Kylian Mbappe said playing with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise feels effortless, after the French striker opened the 2026 FIFA World Cup with two consecutive braces in Les Bleus’ first two matches, where Olise assisted in both games and Ousmane Dembele also featured in the second game.

Mbappe’s remarks were relayed by reporter Fabrizio Romano, who quoted the striker saying, “It’s so easy to play with Michael Olise. He makes it easier, playing with his head up… he can always see my movements. I love playing with Michael.”

Olise has been heavily linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks, with the Spanish giants viewing him as a dream attacking target. Bayern Munich, however, have indicated they are not open to negotiations and are pushing to renew his contract.

Real Madrid already possess explosive runners, but the club has long needed a left‑footed creative player on the right side, offering calm decision‑making and final‑third vision. According to the analysis, Olise provides those attributes, dribbling past opponents while constantly looking forward.

A potential front line featuring Vinicius Junior on one flank, Olise on the opposite side and Mbappe through the centre would give manager Jose Mourinho a mix of speed, creativity and finishing power. The club’s attack is built around movement, timing and quick recognition of space.

From a market perspective, any move for Olise would be extremely difficult, as Bayern Munich are not inclined to sell and would likely demand an enormous fee. The winger’s status at an elite club makes a serious operation unlikely this summer.

Nevertheless, Mbappe’s endorsement keeps the transfer narrative alive, and Florentino Perez’s dream target status adds intrigue. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
