Milan face Musah, Bennacer and Bondo returns this summer
AC Milan will welcome back Yunus Musah, Ismael Bennacer and Warren Bondo after their loan spells ended without permanent moves. The Rossoneri currently lack a head coach, sporting director, technical director and CEO following recent departures.
Milan’s leadership void complicates decisions on Musah, Bennacer and Bondo as the club prepares for next season. Without Champions League football secured, Milan may also lose first-team players including Rafael Leao, Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Mike Maignan.
Ismael Bennacer remains under contract with Milan until summer 2027 after a season-long loan at Dinamo Zagreb. The Croatian club opted not to trigger their €10m permanent deal clause, leaving Milan to consider contract termination to avoid paying Bennacer €4m in his final year.
Yunus Musah is set to return after a loan at Atalanta, where he received limited playing time. Atalanta will not exercise their €24m option to buy, leaving Musah’s future uncertain ahead of the 2026 World Cup absence from the USA squad.
Warren Bondo completes the trio of returning loanees after an underwhelming spell at Cremonese. His future with Milan remains unclear as the club evaluates squad options.
Samuel Chukwueze’s future is also unresolved after a loan at Fulham. The Premier League club holds a €26m permanent option but seeks to negotiate a lower fee with Milan.
Milan plan to activate a €4m buy-back clause for Francesco Camarda from Lecce. Youngsters Kevin Zeroli, Christian Comotto and Alphadjo Cisse will also return from loan spells.
The Rossoneri’s transfer strategy hinges on appointing new leadership before finalizing player decisions for the upcoming season.
