Milan target Højbjerg: Amorim's midfield seeks a breakthrough

Milan, taking advantage of the long international break, is assessing the Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to fill the lack of a breaking midfielder, while Olympique Marseille is facing economic difficulties that keep a transfer still open.

The current midfield battery of the Devil shows a short cover in the crucial role of the breaking and transition midfielder. With only Yunus Musah to meet these specific technical‑tactical characteristics, the management under Aldo Rossi must find a solution.

Rúben Amorim, Milan's manager, called Højbjerg the “perfect name” to complete his midfield, requiring volume, ball recovery and the ability to launch the action with linear precision.

Højbjerg's market conditions

The midfielder born in 1995, currently on the books of Olympique Marseille, has a market valuation between €10 million and €15 million, a top‑level technical and economic opportunity for Milan.

The player combines elite international experience with tactical intelligence that allows him to screen in front of the defence, acting as a perfect balance for the transitions demanded by modern football.

Already last summer Amorim had approved the purchase of Højbjerg, deeming him suitable for his style of play, but Marseille's economic difficulties postponed the deal.

Marseille, after selling Greenwood to Fenerbahçe to balance the books, had tried to sell Højbjerg to Newcastle, but the defender refused, preferring to stay at the French club to which he is strongly attached.
