Monaco land City Group prospect Mathys Detourbet on loan

In 27 games last season, 19‑year‑old Mathys Detourbet scored four goals and supplied seven assists for ESTAC Troyes, a side that secured promotion to Ligue 1. Manchester City confirmed his signing last week and immediately sent him on loan to AS Monaco.

Detourbet, 19, arrived from ESTAC Troyes after the French club earned promotion back to Ligue 1. Manchester City, the flagship of the City Group that also owns Troyes, secured his transfer.

The playmaker had been a key pillar for Troyes throughout the campaign, featuring in 27 matches across all competitions. His contribution of four goals and seven assists highlighted his creative influence.

AS Monaco announced the loan will include an option to extend for an additional year. Should Monaco exercise that clause, they also retain the right to convert the deal into a permanent transfer.

Detourbet is a product of Troyes’ youth system and had attracted significant interest before the move. The loan provides him with top‑flight experience in the French Ligue 1.
