NEC striker Youssef El Kachati heads to Stade Reims for up to €2m
NEC's forward Youssef El Kachati is set to move to French Ligue 2 side Stade Reims, with the transfer fee reported to rise to nearly two million euros through bonuses, De reported on Monday. The 22‑match, 500‑minute stint at NEC yielded three goals after two seasons at Telstar and a spell with amateur side Quick Boys.
El Kachati joined NEC on a free transfer last season after completing two campaigns with Telstar. Injuries limited his impact for manager Dick Schreuder's side.
During the season he featured in 22 matches, primarily as a substitute, accumulating roughly 500 minutes of play. He managed to find the net three times.
Stade Reims, competing in Ligue 2, described the striker as a key component to aid their ambition of returning to the top tier. The club, a six‑time French champion, indicated readiness to meet the financial ask.
The transfer fee agreed with NEC could approach two million euros once performance‑related bonuses are applied. NEC stands to receive the sum from Stade Reims.
El Kachati becomes the first significant outbound transfer for NEC this summer, while teammates Kodai Sano and Sami Ouaissa have also drawn interest from major clubs. Their situations suggest a busy window for the Dutch side.
Remarkably, the move comes less than three years after El Kachati played for amateur outfit Quick Boys, marking a rapid rise to a major European league.
