Nicolas Jackson Sent Off in Senegal Friendly vs Saudi Arabia

Nicolas Jackson was shown two yellow cards in three minutes in Senegal's final warm‑up against Saudi Arabia, resulting in a red card. The Chelsea forward entered as a substitute for Cherif Ndiaye in the 62nd minute. He received his first caution for a high foot on Sultan Mandash in the 82nd minute. Two minutes later, after a misplaced pass, he fouled Abdullah Al Hamddan and was shown a second yellow, which the referee turned into a red. Manager Pape Thiaw now faces a selection dilemma ahead of Senegal’s World Cup opener against France on June 16. Under FIFA Article 69, the red card incurs a one‑match ban in the next friendly, not in the World Cup, so Jackson remains eligible for the tournament. Jackson has been sent off seven times in his club career, including two straight reds for Chelsea and a dismissal while on loan at Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga match against Leverkusen. Jurgen Locadia and Cristiano Ronaldo have both had suspensions reduced after similar incidents, illustrating precedent for leniency.
