Nottingham Forest and AS Roma tempt Feyenoord’s Givairo Read
Feyenoord right‑back Givairo Read, 20, has already made 53 appearances and contributed 15 goals and assists for the Rotterdam club, but says he is open to staying at De Kuip despite concrete interest from England’s Nottingham Forest and Italy’s AS Roma.
Read spoke to a magazine emphasizing that despite being only 20, he feels far from finished at Feyenoord. The Amsterdam‑born defender described himself as a valuable youngster still learning the game and highlighted his development over a fine couple of seasons at De Kuip.
He told the magazine that staying in Rotterdam isn’t the end of the world. “It’s not like I think: I have to leave now because I’ve learned all I can here. Certainly not,” he said, stressing he still has an awful lot to learn.

Read added that he would consider a move if the right opportunity arises, noting that “you never know how many chances you get in life”. He also said that if no departure materialises, he will remain and “play for the championship”.
At international level, Read currently features for the Netherlands U21 side. He said a senior call‑up is his next target, followed by a place in the Dutch national team. “After that, the Dutch national team is the next step. I hope,” he explained.
His performances have attracted interest from clubs in the top five leagues, with England’s Nottingham Forest and Italy’s AS Roma reportedly making concrete approaches. Both clubs are said to be weighing a possible signing as they monitor his progress. Feyenoord’s future with the right‑back therefore remains uncertain.
