Nottingham Forest lands Oliver Glasner after Palace triumphs

🇬🇧

Austrian manager Oliver Glasner has signed a contract with Premier League side Nottingham Forest, set to run until mid‑2029. The former Crystal Palace boss, who guided the London club to a Conference League title and an FA Cup win, departs at the end of the 2023‑24 season.

Glasner was appointed Crystal Palace head coach in February 2024, taking over midway through the campaign. His spell at Palace lasted just over a year before he opted to depart.

At season’s end, Glasner announced his intention to leave Palace in search of a fresh challenge, prompting interest from several clubs. Among the suitors, Feyenoord had kept him high on their wish list for months.

Despite the Dutch club’s interest, Feyenoord ultimately appointed Giovanni van Bronckhorst as their new manager. Glasner was also linked with AC Milan, but the Italian side selected Ruben Amorim instead.

Nottingham Forest succeeded in persuading Glasner to join them for the 2024‑25 campaign. He will replace Vitor Pereira, who departs after the season.

The move sees Glasner drop from a club that finished fifteenth last Premier League season to one that ended sixteenth. The appointment is set for the 2024‑25 season, giving Forest a fresh start under Glasner.
