One-month loan bolsters St Helens as Hull’s Cartwright arrives
St Helens have secured a one-month loan for Hull FC second‑rower Jed Cartwright, with an option to extend the deal for the rest of the season. The 29‑year‑old Australian joins the Saints after making 23 appearances for Hull following his 2024 move from the Newcastle Knights.
He has featured seven times for the Black and Whites this year. Those outings bring his total to 23 games for Hull FC since joining in 2024.
St Helens are currently injury‑hit, having lost five of their past six matches. Cartwright could make his debut against Toulouse on Sunday.
Head coach Paul Rowley said on the club website, “We're obviously short on troops, so the opportunity to bring someone of Jed's quality on board was too good to miss.” Rowley emphasized the need for depth in the forward pack.
The Australian is the son of former Catalans Dragons coach John Cartwright and will be out of contract with Hull FC at the end of the season.
