OneFootball Italy staff predict World Cup winners
OneFootball Italy editorial staff released their World Cup predictions ahead of the tournament. Marco Alessandri, Chiara Caravelli, Diego D'Avanzo, Vincenzo Visco, Emanuele Garbato, Alessio d'Errico and Alessandro De Felice each named a champion, best player, surprise team, biggest disappointment and top scorer.
Four staff members voted France as the tournament winner, while Spain received two votes.
Kylian Mbappé was selected as best player by Marco Alessandri, Alessio d'Errico and Alessandro De Felice. Lamine Yamal received the best player nod from Chiara Caravelli, Vincenzo Visco and Emanuele Garbato. Michael Olise was chosen by Diego D'Avanzo as best player.
Harry Kane was named top scorer by Chiara Caravelli, Diego D'Avanzo, Vincenzo Visco and Alessio d'Errico. Lautaro Martinez was highlighted by Emanuele Garbato as a potential leading striker. Vinicius was selected by Alessandro De Felice as top scorer.
Turkey, Morocco, Ecuador, Norway, Netherlands and Bosnia were cited as possible surprise teams by the staff. Argentina and Brazil were identified as the biggest disappointments by Marco Alessandri, Alessandro De Felice and Alessio d'Errico, while Germany also featured as a disappointment for Chiara Caravelli and Emanuele Garbato.
