Owono in deep mourning after fatal collision with de Miguel

Goalkeeper Jesús Owono speaks of “endless pain” after the fatal collision with Jesús de Miguel. The collision occurred on a Spanish football pitch during a second‑division match. Owono, a 25‑year‑old goalkeeper of FC Andorra, released an emotional statement on the platform X.

Owono expressed his deep distress over the tragic consequences of the collision with his opponent. “These are the hardest days of my life,” the 25‑year‑old stopper of FC Andorra said in a statement published by his club on the news platform X.

Collision and Fatal Outcome

Owono collided with the 30‑year‑old striker during stoppage time of the Spanish second‑division match against CD Tenerife on Monday. De Miguel suffered head injuries and a cardiac arrest and died on Tuesday morning in a hospital on the Canary Islands.

“It is hard for me to find words, and it is very difficult for me to comprehend what happened at all. The loss of Jesús hurts me endlessly,” wrote Owono. His thoughts are with de Miguel’s family and all the people who loved him. He said, as the national goalkeeper of Equatorial Guinea, that there are still many questions to be answered. He will face everything that comes his way “with the utmost respect.” “But at the moment, I can honestly say I can think of nothing else but Jesús and the pain we are all experiencing. Rest in peace, Jesús,” the statement reads.
