Police probe Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni for alleged underage sex
Alessandro Bastoni, the 27‑year‑old Internazionale defender, is due to appear before police on Friday as investigators probe whether he engaged in sexual activity with a 17‑year‑old prostitute during the summer of 2020, a claim the player vehemently denies today firmly.
Police have scheduled Bastoni to be questioned on Friday. The inquiry focuses on allegations that he engaged in sexual activity with a prostitute who was 17 at the time.
According to the allegations, the girl told police she slept at Bastoni's house and was taken home in the morning, after which she was sent to an escort agency. The agency and the international are now accused of child prostitution.
The escort agency is said to have told Bastoni that the minor wanted to have fun and arranged a dinner to introduce the two. The alleged meeting was intended to facilitate the encounter.
The girl has denied having sex with Bastoni, but she confirms she was present at his home. Police will use the Friday interrogation to clarify the sequence of events.
Bastoni's lawyer issued a statement, saying, "My client is very shocked. I can rule out that he ever had paid sexual relations, let alone with minors." The lawyer emphasized the player's shock at the accusations.
Bastoni is a 43‑time Italy international and a regular starter for Internazionale. He featured in forty matches for the club last season.
