Portugal triumphs in Oslo, Haaland's strike not enough

Portugal secured their second group win in the Nations League in Oslo, even though Cristiano Ronaldo was only on the bench. The Portuguese edged out Norway with a narrow 2:1 victory.

Goal and tactical details

João Félix opened the game in the 17th minute, followed by an equaliser from Norwegian striker Erling Haaland in the 51st minute. Just seven minutes later, Ramos made it 2-1 for Portugal in the 54th minute.

An own goal by Norway's goalkeeper Örjan Nyland, caused by a mis‑pass in his own penalty area, allowed Ramos a second goal in the 58th minute, which, however, was not counted a second time due to a video decision because of a narrow off‑side position.

Jorge Jesus steers Portugal to group lead as Norway stumble in Oslo

Portugal played without veteran Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, both of whom did not feature. New national team coach Jorge Jesus led the side to victory.

With six points, Portugal now tops Group Four in League A, while Norway sits in third place with three points.
