Rafael Leao’s exit plan: Milan seek Saudi cash as agent exits

AC Milan face a strategic need to secure a sizable fee as Rafael Leao prepares to drop his agent and eye a Saudi move, a step that could fund reinvestment after the Portuguese forward signalled a desire for a new challenge.

The Rossoneri are entertaining offers from the Saudi Pro League, where a local agency is already handling his potential transfer. Milan’s strategy hinges on securing a fee that meets their minimum valuation, with the club reportedly targeting a minimum €60m for any departure.

Leao confirmed he will drop his dedicated agent and be represented by a team of lawyers as he eyes a summer exit. This decision follows his earlier admission that he would seek a fresh challenge, aligning with the club’s need to balance ambition and finance.

Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri noted that Leao has ‘stopped using a dedicated agent’ and now works with ‘several lawyers’ to manage his future. Tavolieri’s comment was confirmed by the transfer specialist who follows the case closely.

Leao’s contract with Milan carries a €175m release clause, a figure that underscores the club’s valuation threshold. No formal offer has materialised from clubs in Europe’s top‑five leagues, though interest has been mentioned from a number of English clubs. Tottenham appear uninterested.

The Saudi Pro League has already shown initial interest, with the player now represented by a local agency for a potential move to Saudi Arabia. A deal would provide Milan with a substantial sum that could be reinvested into the squad.
