Real Madrid eye Michael Olise as Galactico, €222m price tag

Real Madrid have confirmed they are pursuing French winger Michael Olise as their summer ‘Galactico’ signing, despite rumours that no contact has yet been made and a reported price tag of around €222 million. The club’s president Florentino Perez had earlier pledged a Galactico after the presidential election. President Perez gave a deadline of two days after the election and sent a €150 million bid for Julian Alvarez, which was rejected, yet the offer counted as him living up to his word. Ramon Alvarez de Mon reported that Real Madrid are still looking for a new Galactico, naming Michael Olise as the chosen target, the same player they had before the election polling. Olise is said to share natural chemistry with Kylian Mbappe and would provide a lethal option on the right wing, a position where Los Blancos have struggled for years. The club issued a public statement denying any contacts with Olise’s entourage, while indicating that they plan to initiate talks soon; if the Olise move falls through, they will pursue a different Galactico signing. Real Madrid acknowledge that signing Olise would require a gargantuan financial effort close to €222 million, and although no report confirms openness, the circumstances do not make the deal impossible. Perez is desperate to return Real Madrid to elite level, viewing a world‑class left‑winger as essential for the attacking dynamic, and the recent election saw Enrique Riquelme win a significant vote share, adding pressure on Perez to restore his image. No agreement exists between Michael Olise and Real Madrid at present, and the final outcome will depend on the player’s decision about his next step. The transfer window closes soon, and Olise’s decision will determine whether Real Madrid secure their promised Galactico before the new season begins.
