Real Madrid signs 15-year-old goalkeeper Ricardo Borrero from Sevilla

Real Madrid have signed 15‑year‑old goalkeeper Ricardo Borrero from Sevilla's academy. The agreement runs for one season with options to extend for two further years and sees the player move to the club's Valdebebas complex.

Borrero, who hails from Beas in Huelva, featured in 28 matches across several age groups at Sevilla. He regularly played above his Cadete B level and also appeared for Sevilla's Cadete A side in the Andalusian Division de Honor. Across those appearances he conceded only 17 goals.

His departure follows the recent move of attacking prospect Alexis Ciria, who also left Sevilla for Real Madrid during the winter window. Both transfers illustrate Sevilla's loss of promising academy players to their direct rival.

After the announcement, Borrero wrote on social media that he is 'very happy and proud to sign for the greatest club in history' and thanked Real Madrid for their trust. He described the transfer as a dream come true and pledged to get started at La Fabrica.

The signing underscores Real Madrid's ongoing commitment to identify and recruit elite young talent from across Spain. The club aims to strengthen its academy pipeline to develop the next generation of players.
