Real Madrid to trigger €10m buy‑back for Nico Paz

Real Madrid have moved to activate the €10 million buy‑back clause for midfielder Nico Paz, currently on loan at Serie A side Como. The Spanish giants will decide whether to retain the Argentine player at the Santiago Bernabeu or to pursue a larger transfer this summer. Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon Real Madrid have already decided to bring the academy graduate back under their control before finalising his next step. The activation gives the club full authority over one of its most valuable young assets after his impressive Serie A development. According to the report, once the buy‑back clause is triggered, Real Madrid will immediately offer Como the chance to re‑sign Nico Paz for around €60 million. In that proposal Los Blancos would embed a fresh buy‑back clause valued at approximately €80 million to preserve long‑term control. If Como decline the €60 million valuation, Real Madrid are expected to place the Argentine midfielder on the open market. Inter Milan have been identified as a club showing interest in Nico Paz under those circumstances. The club may also give Nico Paz an opportunity to impress during pre‑season preparations under head coach Jose Mourinho. Coaching staff are set to evaluate the midfielder alongside the first‑team squad before a definitive decision is taken. A contractual complication exists: the agreement with Como includes a mandatory 12‑week waiting period between the player’s return and any subsequent transfer. One possible solution mentioned is a loan with a compulsory purchase option, allowing Real Madrid to comply with the restriction while still moving the player. Real Madrid have not yet announced the final outcome for Nico Paz. Photos accompanying the story were taken by Alessandro Sabattini and Simone Arveda.
