Rodri amazed by the atmosphere at Rams Park after Barça's win
FC Barcelona dominated Galatasaray 4-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League, a victory that highlighted the exceptional atmosphere at the Rams Park, according to midfielder Rodri, 30, a former Manchester City player. The result paves the way for the Catalan club's next match in Paris.
The atmosphere at Rams Park impresses Rodri
Despite the heavy Turkish defeat, Galatasaray supporters gave exceptional backing, creating an intimidating arena for the visitors. Rodri said that, even though he is used to big European stadiums, he had never felt such fervour.
“It was a tough match, it’s always tough when you come here, in this stadium. (…) I’ve never felt anything like that. A crazy atmosphere, so much noise… It was a superb football match,” he told the mixed zone after the final whistle.
He added that experienced players are generally no longer surprised, but that the environment, the chants and the crowd’s support truly amazed him. “Players like me, who have played many matches, are usually no longer surprised. But today, I was.”
This acknowledgement highlights the reputation of Istanbul supporters, known for turning Rams Park into a sonic fortress. Barcelona, buoyed by this win, now prepares to face Paris Saint‑Germain at the Parc des Princes on October 20.
