Ronald Koeman Gives Netherlands Squad Day Off Ahead of Sweden Clash
Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman granted his squad a day off in Kansas City on Wednesday. The break comes as the team prepares for its second group match against Sweden at the World Cup.
The players returned to the Kansas City base after flying from Dallas, where they trained on Monday under the watch of family and friends. The Netherlands opened the tournament in Dallas with a 2‑2 draw against Japan.
A training session and media briefing scheduled for Tuesday were cancelled by the KNVB. Off‑days are common during tournament camps when the match calendar allows.
