Ronaldo isolates himself after Norway, national team in crisis in Malmö

After the Portuguese national team's victory over Norway on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo left the Ullevaal Stadium furious, refusing to shake anyone's hand or thank the supporters before heading to the dressing room. He was found on Tuesday in Malmö, Sweden, where the squad is preparing its clash with Denmark.

The captain left the pitch without stepping onto the grass of the Ullevaal Stadium, then headed straight to the dressing room, refusing any handshake or thanks to the Portuguese supporters. This behaviour fueled rumours of a mini‑crisis within the squad.

Ronaldo isolated in Malmö

He was found on Tuesday in Malmö, Sweden, where the Seleção is preparing its next match against Denmark. He took a brief walk around the pitch before training, but did not take part in the session.

Meeting with the federation and outlook

The press conference scheduled for today was cancelled, raising questions about a possible physical issue or simply a sulk from the captain. RTP reports that the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Pedro Proença, will meet the squad for a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Jorge Jesus.

The manager spoke to his captain on Tuesday evening at the hotel. Jorge Jesus is said to have confirmed to Ronaldo that he would be in the starting lineup, but the player was not included in training.

Abola says the talk left a positive feeling, which should help overcome the tense atmosphere since the match against Norway. Ronaldo was not pleased about not being brought on against the Drillos, despite Jesus's assurances.

With this calmer atmosphere, the Portuguese national team now focuses on its upcoming clash with Denmark, scheduled in the coming days. The squad hopes to restart on better foundations.
