Ronaldo refuses to guess the future Ballon d’Or, praises Lamine Yamal

The Brazilian double Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo told Normand that he didn't know who would win the next Ballon d’Or, adding that he didn't want to get it wrong. He nevertheless used the interview to praise the talent of young Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona.

The ten Ballon d’Or finalists

The ten announced finalists are Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Kvitcha Kvaratskhelia, Lionel Messi, Fabián Ruiz, Rodri and Michael Olise. Each of them shone for their respective clubs this season.

When asked about the future winner, Ronaldo replied: “I’m not really sure who will win, I can’t say, I don’t want to get it wrong.” This answer shows that he prefers to stay low‑key.

Ronaldo then expressed his admiration for the FC Barcelona prodigy, stating that Lamine “can execute all the technical moves, he’s an incredible player we love to watch play.” The Brazilian thus highlighted the young talent.

This season, the blond‑haired youngster won a World Cup with Brazil, then helped secure a La Liga title with Barça. These successes boost his profile among the contenders.

Rumours are also circulating about a possible move for Ronaldo to SM Caen, although nothing is confirmed. Will Yamal’s performance be enough to make Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane look pale?
