Ruben Amorim among candidates for AC Milan manager role

Ruben Amorim is among the candidates being considered for the vacant AC Milan manager position. AC Milan dismissed Massimiliano Allegri after a disappointing end to the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. The club also failed to qualify for the Champions League following a 2‑1 loss to Cagliari on the final day. AC Milan are evaluating other names for the role. Amorim left Manchester United in January following an underwhelming spell at Old Trafford. His tenure at Manchester United followed a highly successful period at Sporting CP, where he earned a reputation as one of Europe’s finest young managers. Amorim has been out of work for six months. Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is another name on AC Milan’s shortlist. Glasner will depart Selhurst Park after guiding the Eagles to the FA Cup, the Community Shield and the Europa Conference League, the most successful spell in the club’s history. He is expected to receive multiple offers this summer. Al Ahli manager Matthias Jaissle also features in the Milan search. Jaissle won consecutive league titles with Red Bull Salzburg before moving to Saudi Arabia, where he added the Saudi Cup and the AFC Champions League Elite title twice. His recent achievements keep him in contention for the Milan job.
