Spain Held to Draw by Cape Verde in World Cup
Spain were held to a 0-0 draw by Cape Verde in Group H of the World Cup on Monday (15). Goalkeeper Vozinha, 40, made several key saves in Atlanta to keep the score level.
Egypt opened Group G in Seattle, taking the lead through Emam Ashour before Belgium equalised via an own goal by Mohamed Hany. In Miami, Uruguay earned a point after Abdulelah Al-Amri scored for Saudi Arabia and Maximiliano Araújo levelled for Uruguay. Los Angeles saw Iran and New Zealand draw 2-2, with Elijah Just scoring twice for New Zealand and Mohammed Mohebi and Ramin Rezaeian netting for Iran.
New Zealand and Iran lead Group G on goals scored, while Belgium sit above Egypt thanks to a higher FIFA ranking. Uruguay rank ahead of Saudi Arabia on goals, and La Celeste tops its group by receiving fewer cards. Spain remain ahead of Cape Verde only on FIFA rankings, the final tiebreaker.
