Strasbourg's striker crisis drives hunt for Sirius star Robbie Ure
Strasbourg need a proven goal scorer after Argentine forward Joaquin Panichelli suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament that will keep him out until the end of the calendar year. The French club have turned their attention to Robbie Ure, the 27‑goal striker currently thriving at Swedish side Sirius.
Robbie Ure arrived at RSC Anderlecht a year ago and was sold for €750,000 to Sirius, setting a new record for the Swedish club's most expensive incoming transfer. At the RSCA Futures he netted 12 goals in 39 appearances across two seasons, but his first‑team exposure for Anderlecht was limited to a single minute in the final match of the 2024/2025 season against Antwerp.
Since joining Sirius, Ure has found the net 27 times in 46 matches, establishing himself as one of the team’s main attractions. He also holds a Ukrainian sport nationality and has been named in preliminary senior squads for both Scotland and Ukraine.
Strasbourg’s interest is amplified by the need to replace Panichelli, whose injury leaves a void in the attacking line‑up. The French side, half‑finalists in the Conference League, are also monitoring interest from Lyon and Nice, who are reportedly evaluating Ure as a potential addition.
Last summer, clubs such as Red Bull Salzburg, Al Ahly and Ukrainian Polissya Zhytomyr attempted to secure Ure’s services, but he remained in Sweden. Those earlier bids underline the growing demand for his goal‑scoring abilities across Europe and beyond.
A transfer has not been finalised, and competition from other interested clubs could complicate negotiations. Anderlecht may also reflect on how the Ure case was handled, especially in relation to the parallel situation of Keisuke Goto.
If Strasbourg can complete the deal this summer, Ure would provide an immediate boost to their Ligue 1 campaign, while the club must navigate the timing of the transfer window and potential bidding from rival French teams.
