Summerville Debuts for Netherlands, Credits Van Dijk and De Jong
Crysencio Summerville started his first match for the Netherlands senior team in a friendly defeat to Algeria. The 24‑year‑old winger credited captains Virgil van Dijk and Frenkie de Jong for helping him feel free on the pitch.
Summerville said he felt comfortable and free despite being new to the squad. He added that the guidance from de Jong and van Dijk gave him confidence to show why he belongs in the World Cup squad.
Summerville noted that training sessions already included him with the A‑team, so his debut was not a surprise. He described the occasion as the moment he had waited for, calling the tension healthy and expressing a desire to become an important player for the Netherlands.
