Symbolic farewell: Titraoui watches Charleroi before Lens signing
The imminent officialisation of Yacine Titraoui’s transfer to RC Lens signals a key midfield reinforcement for the French club ahead of the new season, confirming Lens’ intent to rebuild after recent departures. The move also marks the end of Titraoui’s brief but impactful spell at Sporting Charleroi.
On Saturday night, Yacine Titraoui attended the final pre‑season match of Sporting Charleroi, which took place at the stadium of the Pays of Charleroi. He watched from the stands of Mambourg as Charleroi faced Rayo Vallecano in their last summer preparation game.
At the same time, his future club RC Lens was competing in the final of the Como Cup against Villarreal. The Lens side was not on the Charleroi pitch, but on a different venue, highlighting the parallel events.
Journalist Julien Parcinski disclosed that Titraoui chose to sit in the Mambourg tribunes to see his soon‑to‑be former teammates play, before officially joining the Lens club. The report the officialisation of his transfer to RC Lens is now only a matter of time.
Titraoui arrived at Charleroi in the summer of 2024 from Paradou AC, quickly establishing himself as a major element in the Zèbres’ midfield thanks to his technical quality, volume of play and ability to break lines. His performances attracted interest from several European clubs.
Despite the attention, RC Lens is set to secure the Algerian midfielder, aiming to strengthen a key sector after the departure of Mamadou Sangaré. The club views the 23‑year‑old as a profile with high potential, offering creativity and defensive activity.
With Lens having just won the Como Cup, the club expects to formalise Titraoui’s move within the next hours, completing a symbolic transition from Charleroi to his new French club.
