Ten Hag's two‑year commitment at FC Twente stalls KNVB coach search

🇳🇱 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Erik ten Hag has made it clear he will not be available for the Netherlands senior coach role because he is committed to FC Twente for the next two years. The KNVB therefore cannot approach him in its search for a new bondscoach.

The announcement appeared alongside the photo credit © Pro Shots / Rene NijhuisErik ten Hag, confirming the image source. The caption also includes the strings Pro, Shots, Rene and NijhuisErik, as well as Hag.Erik.

In Tegelen, Ten Hag told reporters, “Google-favoriet„Ik ben niet beschikbaar”, adding “Ik heb bewust voor deze stap gekozen.” The quote was made during the club’s training camp in Tegelen.

As technical director of FC Twente, Ten Hag said he will be occupied with the club for the coming two years and wants to help the side progress. He also sent a clear signal to the KNVB after the disappointing WK, where Oranje and Nederland exited in the round of 16 and Ronald Koeman stepped down.

The article also references other coaching figures, noting that Arne Slot and Sarina Wiegman are discussed in related pieces. A separate note quotes Ronaldo saying “Vóór Cristiano had Portugal nog geen enkele titel”, with the words Lees included for further reading.

The KNVB will now have to consider alternative candidates as it prepares for upcoming fixtures, with the national team’s future plans remaining a priority.
