Tottenham Hotspur eye Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring 17‑year‑old Anderlecht midfielder Nathan De Cat this summer, according to journalist Fraser Fletcher, as the Belgian’s contract runs out at the end of next season. He made 46 appearances, scoring three and providing five assists last season.

Nathan De Cat came through the youth ranks of Anderlecht and has become an important member of their first team. His performances have placed him among the most gifted young midfielders in the Jupiler Pro League.

Spurs are in the running to secure the services of the Belgian youngster this off‑season, but his current deal at Anderlecht expires at the end of next season, which could make a signing difficult this transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi, manager of Tottenham Hotspur, applauded the fans after the team secured safety from relegation in the Premier League match against Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 24, 2026 in London, England. The accompanying photograph was taken by Alex Pantling.

De Cat can contribute defensively, shoot powerfully from long range, deliver decisive passes in the final third, and dribble effectively with the ball at his feet. He has already added a handful of goals and assists to his game.

Only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Spurs manage to sign him this summer.

If signed, De Cat could enhance the quality of Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield in the long run and serve as a useful rotational piece in the North London club’s squad next season.

De Zerbi would be wise to step up his efforts to land the 17‑year‑old before the end of the transfer window.
