Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs: This gifted winger one future prospect

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Paris Saint‑Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, Foot Mercato reports. The 18‑year‑old Senegalese talent has impressed in Ligue 1, prompting Spurs to monitor his situation as the summer window approaches, with Aston Villa also reportedly interested, the race for the gifted winger could intensify.

Mbaye managed to catch the eye at PSG last season with a string of impressive displays in the final third. He recorded three goals and two assists in 24 league appearances for the French club across all competitions. His versatility as a right‑winger who can also operate on the left makes him a valuable prospect for any attack.

The Senegalese teenager is already regarded among the best young wingers in Ligue 1, highlighting his rapid rise in French football. His current contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2028, meaning Tottenham would need to act now to avoid a costly purchase later. Spurs must also outbid Aston Villa, who are said to be in the same race for his signature this off‑season.

While Mbaye possesses good dribbling, decisive passing and goal‑scoring ability, there are questions about his capacity to handle the physical intensity of the Premier League. Roberto De Zerbi could add depth and quality to Tottenham’s attack, with the winger potentially challenging for a regular first‑team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. At 18, he is one prospect for the future, capable of becoming a future star in English football if he continues to develop.

A move to London would give the Senegal winger exposure on a bigger stage and accelerate his development toward the FIFA World Cup 2026. For Tottenham, securing Mbaye now would secure a gifted winger for the long term and possibly fend off competition from Aston Villa. A photo of Mbaye taken by Michael Reaves/Getty Images at Toronto Stadium in ONTARIO during JUNE 2026 World Cup Group match against Iraq underscores his rising profile on the international scene.
